January 2024 Newsletter

Updated: Feb 27

Dear Friends, Happy New Year and our very best wishes to you and your loved ones for a wellness filled 2024. This month we're doing a deep dive into sleep and all its benefits......

Creativity - this month I really enjoyed my first ever photography course. It was taught (by Zoom) by food photographer & stylist Matt Inwood. It was really reasonable, accessible & he donates 10% of each course fee to The Trusslle Trust. "Hug in a Mug" photo below is a post course effort!

Inspiration - the Netflix documentary American Symphony follows the lives of jazz musician & composer Jon Baptiste & his wife, author, artist & cancer survivor, Suleika Jaouad. It's an emotional roller coaster but very inspiring. If you want to hear more about Suleika I recommend her appearance as a guest on Rich Roll's podcast -"Why survival is a creative act".

Learning - Jack has been reading "France on Trial: The Case of Marshal Pétain" by Julian Jackson. This part of France was governed by the Vichy regime led by Pétain from 1940 to 1944 collaborating (his word) with the Nazis Party. Its not spoken about here. The book is a complicated & fascinating examination of how Pétain, the hero of the First World War, became a lightning rod for collective guilt & retribution after the Second World War.

SharingI've started writing a blog but, until now, I hadn't told anyone about it. It's me working through what accessible wellness means to me, sharing things I've learnt and people I've learnt from over the last few years. It claims to be weekly but I'm giving myself lots of latitude with that! If it might appeal please do take a look.

Manoir Mouret in the News - this is the lovely piece in The Standard about joyous retreats including our NOURISH retreat!
